My name is Natalia Rios Rivera. I´m mom of a beautiful boy I love with all my heart. I enjoy running, painting, writing and reading. I live in Jalisco, Mexico in a nice area sorounded by nature.
Professionally speaking, I have experience in Marketing, Digital Communications, Web Design and more. I love languages so I am proficient in English, French and Spanish. Actually one of my goals for this year is to present the DELF B2 certification.
Talking about my academic backgorund, I have a Bachelor in Design from Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana, México and a Master in Media Technology from Leiden University, The Netherlands. The Master in particular was an important experience for me since I had to move to another country. Also it was significant since I got a scholarship from the National Council on Science and Technology (CONACYT) to study 2 years in Leiden University so that made me feel committed to myself and to my country. In The Netherlands I met really nice people, I learned a lot and I aslo traveled to many countries too.
I can also share that I discovered the power of stories and how they affect the way we see the world so I decided to start writing. I told myself a new story “I am a writer”. This cycle has allowed me to put into words what interests me, what I think matters. In my blog I write about security, personal data protection, freedom of expression and online privacy. I also read and write about feminism, digital media, racialization, colonialism, and discrimination studies.
